Finally, a reason to look at the print version

If you don't tend to read the legal notices public agencies print in local newspapers, you might have missed some excitement this week. Foothill-De Anza is setting a deadline for Aaron Katz to file his expected lawsuit over their new bond measure. El Camino Hospital, meanwhile, is mounting a counterattack against SEIU local 715 and its ongoing campaign to make hospital directors look like tobacco executives.

In an open letter printed in several local papers, El Camino Hospital Chair Edward Bough asserts the hospital's commitment to public accountability, saying,
"The truth is that the El Camino Hospital Board of Directors conducts business in accordance with the Brown Act and the Public Records Act. In fact, we surpass all requirements for disclosure, providing transparency beyond what is mandated."
Nevermind the fact that the hospital has gone to court to keep secret some of the same documents it is now patting itself on the back for releasing.
